Blackjack is one of the most simple card games but it’s also one of the most challenging to play, so if you’re just starting out in the game you may not know what to do with all the strategy and tricks you’ve been learning. There are many different ways to win at blackjack, but you must learn how to read a card, determine the odds, and read a card or group of cards to be able to calculate the best possible strategies for beating the casino. In this article I’ll show you some basic blackjack strategy that will help you make correct blackjack decisions every single time you play. Don’t be afraid to experiment, because as you gain experience you’ll be able to figure out what works and what doesn’t. It really isn’t that hard once you understand the basic concepts of the game.
The first thing you should do when playing blackjack is figure out exactly how much the house has to spend at a game before you call it. This is called the “tell”. You can find this on most basic blackjack strategy charts. Once you have figured out the tell you’ll want to look at the rest of the cards to determine an accurate prediction of the odds. The higher up on the card that the dealer is, the better the odds of winning, so pay attention to that telling.
Now, here’s another one of my favorite advanced tips for blackjack. If you are playing against a competent casino technician, he’s going to make a lot of mistakes, which is the best way for him to lose. The casino technician is going to mis-judge a few cards here and there and that’s the only time when you should strike back and try to steal the win from him.
However, once you get into the game with some real experience you will have a better chance of winning, but it’s still a risk you take. You can eliminate some of the casino’s advantage by using basic blackjack strategy charts and making educated guesses about what cards you may be able to hit. Once you start winning, though, the house edge becomes a huge factor, and you will lose more often than you win. Therefore, it is important to eliminate the house edge whenever possible. This means you have to know the lowest possible score you can hit and then bet that amount, no matter how much the house edge is.
Another excellent blackjack strategy is to memorize the names of the card hands and the basic blackjack strategy for each hand. For example, an Ace-King combination is called Ace-K. Watch out for pairs such as Aces, Kings, Queens, Treys, or Jacks. These hands are easy to beat around the table if you’re patient enough. You can also memorize the jokers which, although not as good, do still have value especially if you are a blackjack table beginner.
Most important of all is that you stay in control. If you lose control, the casinos’ blackjack games may not be the best blackjack games for you. It’s very easy to lose control and bet big when you’re frustrated. Therefore, if you feel that you are losing track of when you should be getting and how much you should be betting, then it’s time to get help with your basic blackjack strategy.
